Group Training Opportunities for winter 2003-04

There are opportunities to train with Mike at the Racquet's Edge Health Club in Essex, Vermont. Both members and non-members can participate., but being a member at Racquet's Edge, Twin Oaks Sports & Fitness in South Burlington, or Sport's and Fitness Edge in Williston gets you the member rate. During the winter months training from Racquet's Edge provides a warm base with access to all the club facilities. New programs will start up after the VCM for Fall Marathon and Half Marathon Training.


Winter Track Workouts at the Racquet's Edge-weekly starting November 5th

Evening Workouts:

Don't let winter destroy that hard-earned running fitness. You can train all through the snow and sleet at Racquet's Edge by signing up today for Winter Track Workouts. These sessions are held both indoors, at the RE2 Indoor Track and outdoors around the measured loop near Rotunda's Auto Body. Sessions begin Wednesday, November 5th at 6:30 p.m. and continue weekly through the winter. Cost is $20.00 for a 4-session ticket for members and includes the services of RE Running Coach Mike DeSanto at each session. Non-members cost is $32.00.


Morning Winter Track Workouts at the Racquet's Edge - weekly starting November 4th:

If evenings don't work try the Tuesday morning workouts following the same program as above. Sessions begin Tuesday morning, November 4th at 9:00a.m. and continue weekly through the winter. Cost is the same, $20.00 for a 4-session ticket for members and includes the services of Running Coach Mike DeSanto at each session. Non-member cost is $32.00.


Marathon Training for Vermont City Marathon (May 30th, 2004)

If you are ready to make the commitment to run a marathon, then make the commitment to do it right. Sign up for the 20-week program, which begins January 16th, 2004. Do it now as part of your New Years Resolution! Space is limited. Classes and workouts meet every Thursday until the Marathon! Cost is $175.00 for members and $200.00 for non-members. The program includes a personalized marathon schedule, monthly seminars to discuss the training plan, monthly group discussions to go over how training is going, and coached track workouts every 2 weeks to focus on the proper energy system and training period. The program also includes email and phone consultations with Coach Mike DeSanto who will be your personal guide in your quest to run the perfect marathon. Subjects covered are periodization, speed workouts, diet & nutrition, equipment, race strategy, pace, mileage, frequency and all the details of preparing for the most popular and challenging of races

 

These and other running programs are conducted by Racquet's Edge Running Coach Mike DeSanto. Coach Mike has worked with runners from beginners to near elite and has guided them to many Personal Bests in race distances from 5k to the marathon. Mike has been at RE for one year, coaches Cross Country at Lake Champlain Waldorf School, and has been a competitive runner for 25 years. He is a Certified Running Coach by the Road Runners Club of America, a Certified Personal Trainer and an American Sport Education Program Certified Coach. You can also work with Coach Mike through RE personal training programs in a one-on-one basis.
